Lisé Markham Bio

Over the course of 25 years in broadcasting, Markham’s passion was the operational side of business development seeking out innovation in technology and partnerships with beta operational platforms considered to be on the forefront of the broadcast digital future.

She became one of the youngest general managers of a broadcast facility in the country and one of a handful of female executives to rise to that level in the early ‘80’s. She has been involved in construction, funding, acquisition, design, and launch of four television stations.

Hired by the Tribune Company of Chicago, she was their first female vice president and general manager in the company’s 150 year-history. She had oversight over the purchase of a bankrupt television station in San Diego acquired for 70.2 million dollars, a record 22 times cash flow. In just five years, KSWB became one of the top performing stations of all 26 Tribune owned stations, quadrupling the revenue in just five years with a 14% market share and achieving cash flow margins of over 40%.

She was also the first female elected as President of the California’s Broadcaster’s Association receiving a Certificate of Commendation from the State by Senator Diane Feinstein for her efforts launching the first Breast Cancer Research Stamp inaugurated by the United Sates Post Office in 1998.

As an entrepreneur, Markham founded DMTV, Direct Mail Television with Tribune as a charter client. Univision Television Group, CBS Radio/TV, the Fox Network, Twentieth Television, and Warner Bros. Television followed. With proprietary database marketing coupled with software analytics, DMTV’s direct marketing campaigns proved not only a ratings success but provided a deeper knowledge and use of consumer analytics for their clients. As a result of this successful model, and keeping with its exit strategy, DMTV agreed to be purchased by close of 2008 by a private company.

Today, Lisé is a new media consultant, focusing on the business development side of digital brand marketing using her broadcast, analytic, and mobile expertise to position her clients in the interactive digital landscape. She also founded www.hiphelp.org, a website devoted to those who have received the recalled hip implant, like herself, made by Johnson and Johnson to assist those in need.
